once upon these days

i absolutely LOVE being 19…my life ahead of me. young enough to have big dreams but old enough to have some of them come true!

i’m a dreamer. an artist. i’m constantly inspired by the world around me. it is such an exciting thing for me, to explore and discover daily, be it through a magazine, nature, or cyberspace. so, i’m going to share just a few of the things that inspire me, make me feel alive, today.

-the cold, white wisps of snow blowing across my barn roof in ghostly drifts.

-journaling.

-art. (painting. interior design. fashion. sketches. watercolor. real-life nature!)

-piano music. heck, any classical music. nah…make that music in general! (but classical is def inspiring!)

– antique stores and thrift shops.

-sundresses.

-being artsy-craftsy. and making valentines! (anyone want to hire me?!) (;

-anything vintage. (modcloth. etsy. annie brooks.)

-babies. and children. (:

-videos. (taking them, making them, watching them, studying them. i am such a visual person, can’t you tell?)

-books.

-candles. mmmm!

-the Bible. it’s so amazing, inspiring, refreshing.

-shopping!

-and, of course, photography. on blogs, in magazines, in books or on video. it never ceases to release emotions within me. open my mind, break my heart, bring a smile to my face or tears to my eyes.

and i’m sure that there are sooo many more things, places, people that i haven’t thought of to put in this post. so, maybe i’ll just have to do it again? let me know what you think…and what inspires YOU! (:

he’s the big brother…but he’s still little to me:)

I didn’t blog these photos back in October when I took them, and I just realized that! Mr. T here turned 4 in October and him and his little brother have SO. MUCH. ENERGY. I’m not sure how in the world their mom handles it….or their stinkin’ adorableness! These two love chasing and loving and pushing each other. (; and superheroes! (hence the costumes you’ll see here shortly.)

maybe a little nervous about being in front of the camera?

or maybe a bit curious!

and he’s definitely got the serious face down pat!

oh look! it’s the baby! (;

hahaha. I seriously love this photo. It’s so full of joy:) and joyful babies are the best!

such a very gentlemanly superhero.

and…two very important superhero skills: flying and shooting webs!

I hope this brightens and warms this cold January evening! (:

Winter love

As many of you probably know, this is my first year of college. So, I’m really just a baby in the eyes of the world, fresh out of high school. (; (it’s not a bad thing…just a fact.) Anyhow, sometime in November I recieved an inquiry from a girl that I went to high school with, wondering about couples’ photos! We finally made time after finals to go out and shoot; let me tell you, these two are troopers! It was SO cold out, but they let me take them all over outside anyway. (: Haley and Joe, it was fun getting to know you both better!

Keep warm!

Stunnnning.

Open your child’s imagination. Open a book. -anon

hello blog readers! (: I’ve been busy with life and such lately, and not so busy with photography, due to the fact that I mainly shoot seniors and those are primarily in the fall (with a few in the spring.) However, I did shoot two sessions last week and I’m excited to share one of them with you today! Meet the H. family!

who doesn’t love a good Amelia Bedelia book? (:

I absolutely love downtown during the holidays! It’s pretty snazzy.

Until next time,

Amelia (:
