You know it’s summer….

when you finally get to go out to the farm and go strawberry picking!

Mmmmmm. Strawberries are just one of my many favorite summertime fruits. (; You can use them in a plethora of recipes (mainly desserts!) or make smoothies…or just eat them plain! With or without sugar, take your pick. My mom and I took the two little boys I nanny during the summer strawberry picking a few weeks back, and I’m finally just going through the photos. If you’ve never been, you should go sometime. It’s a fun way to get some sun…and some yummmmmy & healthy fruit!

gotta have a fun big hat for the hot sun.

mmmm. yummy, messy goodness!

love always!

“where are the fishes?”

This little man is as adorable as he is active! I know his babysitter, and as a gift for his parents (he’s almost 2!) she decided to get some photos taken of him. Not a bad idea! (Photo sessions make great gifts, seriously! And mother’s day is coming up here….) (; Ooooops! I’m getting off topic. Gabe was super active once he warmed up to me & my ‘big’ camera. It made it a challenge to capture some photos of him that weren’t blurry, but a fun challenge at that!  I think that we made it work, and had fun. Just a little bit.;)

Sneak Peak!

Had a fun shoot with this little fella last week….can you tell he likes to run? (;

he’s the big brother…but he’s still little to me:)

I didn’t blog these photos back in October when I took them, and I just realized that! Mr. T here turned 4 in October and him and his little brother have SO. MUCH. ENERGY. I’m not sure how in the world their mom handles it….or their stinkin’ adorableness! These two love chasing and loving and pushing each other. (; and superheroes! (hence the costumes you’ll see here shortly.)

maybe a little nervous about being in front of the camera?

or maybe a bit curious!

and he’s definitely got the serious face down pat!

oh look! it’s the baby! (;

hahaha. I seriously love this photo. It’s so full of joy:) and joyful babies are the best!

such a very gentlemanly superhero.

and…two very important superhero skills: flying and shooting webs!

I hope this brightens and warms this cold January evening! (:

Open your child’s imagination. Open a book. -anon

hello blog readers! (: I’ve been busy with life and such lately, and not so busy with photography, due to the fact that I mainly shoot seniors and those are primarily in the fall (with a few in the spring.) However, I did shoot two sessions last week and I’m excited to share one of them with you today! Meet the H. family!

who doesn’t love a good Amelia Bedelia book? (:

I absolutely love downtown during the holidays! It’s pretty snazzy.

Until next time,

Amelia (:

‘Other things may change us, but we start and end with family’

Have you met my best friend, Miranda? Well, if you know me or have followed my blog, you probably have. But if you need a refresher, here’s one. (;

oh yeahhhhh. You remember her now! Who could forget a beauty like this, right?

Well, anyhow…I had the privilege of doing her family –and EXTENDED family–photos a few weekends ago. I was a little nervous. Ok, a LOT nervous! Because, get this, there were going to be 22 people there! 22! But, I got through it…with a little help from her dad’s marvelous camera that I used and the fact that they’re all sooo dang gorgeous.

but I’ll just shut up and let the pictures speak for themselves.

One afternoon I got to play in the leaves, run around a park, explore by a railroad, and have some balloon fun. Oh yeah, and take some photos, too! (; Meet Miss Arianna (:

Sturgis Falls- Simply the Best. (Pt.1)

Here in Cedar Falls, the last weekend of June is marked off everyone’s calendar from the moment they open them on Christmas morning the December before. That’s because, the last weekend of June is Sturgis Falls!  It is only the favorite weekend of the year! It’s a talent show, carnival, concerts, amazing food, the BEST smoothies in the world, old & new friends, and a smile that doesn’t wipe off your face. (:  This year, I was hired to photograph kids in the Kidsway Tent. For those of you not familiar with Sturgis, the Kidsway tent has activities going all day long, all weekend long for children 2-12 (ok, anyone, really.)  There is Willy S. Wonderful the clown, the Balloon Man, face painting, and all sorts of entertainers from magicians to musicians! Basically, its a kids’ dream come true. (;

Willy signing posters for the winners of the coloring contest.

Some kids were pretty stoked about their prizes. (; (others, not so happy to be there.)

the piano man. He was extremely talented. I really enjoyed him, dunno about all those kiddies though!

This one right here is a favvvvvvv. Oh my word, so cute. (: It pretty much sums up Sturgis Falls Kidsway tent-balloons and chalk!

Winners of the Costume Parade. They were UNI Cheerleaders, fyi. hahaha. I love the “panther” on the right.

Hey cuties. (:

Her costume was just too adorable. I’m SO dressing my little girl in a butterfly-fairy costume someday. (;

The bike races! This little two-year-old had some att-i-tude!

Suzuki timeee! I was in the awesome music program for 10 years….& I have many memories of playing at the Kids Tent. Not all of them are so fond…..

Do I know these people? Oh yeahhh… (; Joey & Jessica were 2/3 of the winners of the Sturgis Falls Scholarship! Congrats, guys.

Best smoothies in the ENTIRE WORLD. No joke.

and one last photo for this post. Stay tuned for more!
